
Welcome to Teg's Buns
Teg grew up on a farm in North Wales, and every Saturday, he would watch his mum bake using ingredients from the garden or foraged from the local forests and fields. As he grew older, he would eventually be able to join in, and this is where his love for baking and cooking began.

As an adult, Teg was able to travel around the world and experience a wide variety of foods. This helped him appreciate that there are many sources of ingredients that his mum would never have dreamed of.
In 2007, he moved to the USA to get married and, while in Cohasset, Massachusetts, decided to set up Teg's Buns. The choice of name was a fun play on words; in the UK, 'buns' have a very different meaning from those in the USA. He could not resist adding the tagline, "You know you want to bite them. "

Eventually, after moving to Westport Island, Maine, he decided to take things a step further and began baking for family, friends, and locals. As a full-time Hannaford (East Coast Supermarket) employee, he had to limit the baking to requests only so that he could better manage his time.

In August 2025, a decision was made to move back to his native Wales. One of the main reasons was family, another was the realization that there was still one last adventure to be had while there was still plenty of time and energy. The move took the family and three dogs to Bettws Ifan, a beautiful rural village near the coast of West Wales and the town of Cardigan. Here, he hopes to give Teg's Buns one final run out.
